In this blog, we will decipher the all-new Request Feature by SendIt, why is it necessary, and how it helps and works.

‍But first, what is SendIT?

SendIt enables any user to either send or receive cryptocurrency to an email address or social media account. Through this process, users don’t require an existing crypto wallet address to receive crypto, easing the onboarding and adoption process for a non-crypto native user.‍

The aim of building SendIT was to onboard the next billion users to Web3. The idea was to make people send crypto without knowing about wallet, manage keys, or know how to transact. Since its launch, SendIT has been making waves in the space, capturing the attention and interest of newer users far and wide. We have currently onboarded more than 250K users and generated more than a million transactions. The goal is to reach 1 million users. ‍

New launch: The Request Feature‍

SendIT has a vibrant community of strong supporters. We have been cognisant of this fact and have been involving our community in every major product decision. Learning from the feedback we had from the community, We observed that users currently lack a straightforward method to request payments in cryptocurrency from other users within SendIt. The process usually involves a manual engrossing approach, which can lead to errors and confusion.
This was one of the most requested features from our community. 

Hence we set out on the path to build a more flawless Request flow. Today we are introducing the all-new Request Feature, which helps you request a crypto transaction addressed to a social address or email, this too without the hassle of a wallet.‍

How does Request work: Under the Hood‍

The Working of Request feature is quite easy to understand as well as to utilize, A Requester can generate a payment link for a particular email ID or social handle and share it with them after specifying details such as recipient, chain, and amount. The fulfiller can then pay the amount using any wallet/login method. The requester can also send an email to the sender if they choose to notify them via email. 

To add to the experience, the Reciever gets notified on SendIt as soon as the payment is completed. Additionally, the link generation process by the receiver will not charge any gas fees, so No Gas is paid by the requester.

Meanwhile, on the Fulfiller's side, they can click on the link to log into SendIt and go through the requested transaction with all the information pre-filled. For this Transaction, they can either proceed to fulfill the payment, mark to do later, or just simply reject it. 

You can also pay the request later. A sender can see all of his pending requests in the history tab of SendIT.

How & when are we going live with Request? 

We are going live with the Request feature on 26th September - Tuesday 10 am UTC. This feature is exclusively launched on the BNB chain. So as of now, users can only request BNB tokens. 

But why BNB chain? A couple of weeks back we asked our community what chain they want to see next.  BNB was the one who stood out & had strong community support. The community overlap was massive & most users were early SendIT adopters. We interacted with a few of the overlapping users & also leaders at BNB. They were quite excited about SendIT & were open to partnering up to launch an exclusive feature with SendIT for both the communities. The feature will be exclusively available for BNB tokens for the next 2 weeks. There are also exclusive rewards of about 2000+ XP for the users interacting with the Request feature.
